Save myself some real money here. My original Ford 2011 F150 key broke; the local dealer wanted nearly $400 to replace and code. Checked out Google and YouTube to find out how easy it is to add a new key. Bought this one and was set up in minutes. Local locksmith charged me $3 to cut the key. The instructions for setting up a new key are actually in the truck owner's manual.
Dislike that the website with the programming instructions is gone.
Had the key cut by a locksmith, added the key to the truck and programmed the fob without issues. The range on the fob is nearly useless. At most, in an open field, I was able to use the remote at 30' from the truck. It is great at reducing the need to carry a fob and key on the ring but the range needs a lot of help!
