I used this fob for a replacement key on a BMW E36 that does not have the need for an alarm button, or door lock/unlock or trunk unlock JUST LIKE the original key that came with the car which is also an HU58 style key. If you have an E46, E38, E39, or similar with those functions, this is not the key fob for you, but Amazon does have those and they work fine because I have used those, too.This one was cut by my locksmith with ease and programmed by me with ease and it works perfectly. It's battery can also be changed so the light will continue to function.All one needs to add is the BMW logo that can be purchased under a BMW part number as a sticker.

To the other reviewer. This key does work but needs to be cut by a locksmith who can cut a “laser” key although it’s not actual laser that cuts it, it’s just what it’s known as. It’s hard to find a locksmith to cut, or that won’t charge 50-80 to cut. Your local parts store won’t cut this type key, no need for bad review, just make sure you call a locksmith if they can cut 4track hu58 Keys before purchasing.
