Key worked as advertised. If you carefully follow youtube videos, you can program yourself. There is a sequence to activate the key (chip) that controls the inhibitor. There is a second sequence to program the fob. Both are working for our 2006 Scion TC. Check to see that the chip will work using the programming sequence before you cut the key. They key is pretty large, most hardware stores did not want to cut it...the locksmith did it for $2. Good luck!

This is a great item and it shipped quickly.
Bought this for my scion iq 2012. Was able to have an independent local person cut and program it for me. Almost 4 years later not paying attention I broke it by not inserting all the way and turning it. I plan to buy another as this one simply works.Pro tip don't throw your broke key fob away. If the circuit board still works with the programming just get the new one cut and pop the old board in or vice versa. You can still unlock and start your car if the board gets ruined somehow or use it to get another one keyed.
